TOOTH BONDING

Bonding is a procedure performed as part of cosmetic dentistry. It is a non-invasive method of tooth restoration that uses a layer of composite made of resin. This procedure is harmless to the enamel, as the interference with its structure is minor. The biggest advantage of bonding is the short execution time and the immediate effect immediately after the visit. The lack of teeth grinding, as in the case of ceramic veneers, is an additional advantage for patients who expect an express correction of their smile. The lifespan of bonding is estimated to be about 5 years.

Contraindications

  • Caution should be exercised in patients with bruxism, asuncontrolled grinding or clenching of teeth can affect the durability of composites.
  • Such patients should be provided with a special protective splint- teeth restored with composite must be free of caries, and there should be no inflammatory features near the tooth
