Use of platelet-rich plasma (PRP)

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Edyta Mazur’s article on ” Use of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) in aligner orthodontics using Dental Monitoring as a tool to support clinical control” was published in the August issue of “Orthodontics in Practice” No. 3/2023.

The article was also published in the Czech “StomaTeam.”

In her article, Dr. Edyta Mazur shares her first observations on PRP injections of orthodontically treated patients.

Patients have come in for treatment not only for malocclusion, but also periodontal inflammation and gingival recession.

Currently they are still undergoing treatment with Spark aligners and their control and observation is supported by remote Dental Monitoring.

Already after the first applications of platelet-rich plasma, Dr. Edyta Mazur and her guided patients have observed:

-reduction of soreness

-reduction of periodontal inflammation, swelling

-inhibition of gingival recessions

-improved mucosal adhesion

-acceleration of soft tissue healing

-gradual restoration of bone.

PRP is now a huge potential

in regenerative dentistry, including digital orthodontics

PRP injections are very popular and many patients are interested in this procedure.
